We’re pleased to announce that the Working Equitation New Zealand AGM will take place on the 28th of May at 7pm via zoom.
We also want to clarify a few things around the recent proposed rule changes, which were circulated to all members and groups by the 14th of April for feedback. These are not yet final—we’re still in the consultation phase.
We’ve shared them in advance to be transparent and to give everyone the opportunity to contribute. We’ve seen some discussion online around the proposed changes, and while we welcome feedback, we ask that members and groups direct it through the appropriate channels (via email or remit process).
Amendments to the rules are mainly clarification/simplication and in some cases rewording. There are some more significant changes to align our rules more closely with the WAWE (World Association of Working Equitation) rules. All changes are in red and any parts deleted or changed are crossed out. Changes to penalties in Speed are to make judging and scoring simpler.
Formatting (page numbers, titling etc) will also be tidied up for the final publication.
Questions, comments or suggestions on these changes and proposed Remits are welcomed, and must be sent to this email address, workingeqnz@gmail.com, by by 30 April 2025. The form for remits has been sent to member emails.
Public social media posts are not an effective or appropriate method for influencing rule development and may spread misinformation. We ask all members to engage constructively and respectfully, in line with our shared commitment to a positive, inclusive community.
Link to proposed rules changes. You will see the old rules and the new rules thereby showing transparency and a genuine consultation process. Members should have received a link to the remit document. Please email the secretary
